Network & Firewall: Cleanly Segmented and Reachable
Network problems always show the same way: the service is unreachable, the backup does not run, access suddenly takes seconds instead of milliseconds. The cause often lies not in the application but in the network underneath: rule sets that have grown over years, ports left open because a test ended without the return path being documented, or segmentation nobody can fully oversee anymore. We bring light into this structure.
What we configure: We set up firewall rule sets on your Linux systems cleanly: which connections are allowed, from which direction, to which service, and everything else is explicitly rejected. We review existing rule sets for dead entries and double rules and bring them into a readable, documented form. VPN access for remote workstations and external staff we set up with modern methods, including key management and a documented onboarding process for new devices.
Segmentation as a principle: A clean network separates zones that do not belong together: admin access separated from public services, databases separated from the application network, staging separated from production. We implement this segmentation with firewall zones and, where it makes sense, with separate networks. It limits how far a problem can spread during an outage.
What you get: A documented network design, rule sets a human can read and review, and working, tested VPN access. During faults we diagnose with the usual tools where packets get stuck and fix the cause, not only the symptom. After every intervention you know which connections into and out of your network are allowed.
When this fits you: This service fits companies whose firewall rules have grown historically, teams that need VPN access for distributed work, and environments facing an audit or a hardening review. After a security incident, a network review is usually the first step, because it shows which paths an attacker could have taken.
How we work: We begin with an inventory of your network: zones, rule sets, open paths, exceptions. From that comes a target picture that we implement step by step without interrupting running services. Every rule change is discussed in advance and logged. Ongoing care runs in one of our billing models; details are on the services overview.
Network and security are not separate topics: the firewall is the first hardening layer of your system. You can read how we secure systems beyond that on our security hardening page.
